Should the ticket arrive by email or by text?

For US organizers. Numbers checked in November 2026.

The ticket is the email with the QR code. A text message can point at that same ticket. It should not create a second code. Two codes for one purchase is how a duplicate gets in. Buyers already look at email for a receipt. The receipt and the ticket are the same message.

How it works

  1. 1

    Write the total

Face value plus the booking fee, before you announce the show.

  2. 2

    Publish one checkout

Tiers, capacity, and a link you can send today.

  3. 3

    Sell the first tickets

The sale date starts the payout clock.

What to look for

The answer

The ticket is the email with the QR code. A text message can point at that same ticket. It should not create a second code. Two codes for one purchase is how a duplicate gets in. Buyers already look at email for a receipt. The receipt and the ticket are the same message.

A worked example

A buyer pays $27.50 and gets one email. They show the code. Their friend with a screenshot of the text arrives later and fails the second scan, because it is the same code and it was used.

What to do next

Test delivery to your own inbox before the on-sale. If the email lands in spam for you, it will land in spam for the room.
