Luma: fees, payouts, and when another option fits

Honest comparison for US organizers β€” Luma vs Tickean on cost, cash flow, and operations.

Luma Free is 5% plus Stripe, and the listed price is what the buyer pays. This page puts that next to Tickean's 10%, where card processing is already included.

Independent promoters should model three ticket price points and expected sell-through before choosing a stack for the season.

Tickean is one option: the organizer keeps the ticket price, buyers pay 10% per paid ticket with card processing included, and that ticket price is paid out within 2 business days of the sale. Venue-required vendors still come first.

  3. 3

    Scale what wins

Move the calendar when net margin and ops are better.

What to look for

Luma fees in the United States

Luma Free is 5% plus Stripe, and the price you list is the price the buyer pays. To keep $25 you list about $27.47. Luma Plus is a monthly subscription with a 0% platform fee plus Stripe. It is not the public self-serve floor. Above roughly 100 paid tickets a month, the subscription can cost less per ticket than a flat $0.60.

Tickean is 10%, card processing included, with no subscription. A $25 ticket is $27.50 and you keep $25. You do not open a Stripe account.

Payout timing and cash flow

Luma pays through the organizer's Stripe account. Domestic card funds are typically available in about 2 business days. That clock is Stripe's.

Tickean orders the ticket price within 2 business days of the sale. The organizer does not run the Stripe account.

When to switch from Luma

Stay on Luma Free if listing one price and paying Stripe yourself is what you want. Switch when you want the face value kept whole, the 10% shown as the buyer's fee, and no Stripe account of your own. Luma Plus is a subscription. Compare it only after you know the month's paid-ticket count.
